My Experience at MphasiS Campus Drive LDRP, Gandhinagar

Hi I am Pavan Mulani Completed my BE with CE in LDRP-ITR in june 2011. Got selected in MphsiS – an HP Company on 24^th march 2011 and was a great day of my life thanks to “KETAN SIR”…J

Ok now come to the main point, campus drive was on 23^rd march 2011. It was on campus drive so no other college was allowed to sit in campus. There are around 250 students took part in campus drive. Criteria is simple you must had scored 60% above. That means your aggregate must be greater than 60%. And no current backlog (ATKT).

There were total 4 rounds in Campus Drive

      1)    Online Aptitude test

      2)      Group Discussion

      3)      Personal Interview

      4)      Telephonic Versant test round

First online aptitude test conducted by ASPIRING MINDS people. Now this is the only main part in the campus drive once you have cleared it means you are done with major portion of the campus drive. It contains Quantitative, Logical, English, Technical sections (C and C++). All are objective type of questions. You have one question and have to choose correct one. There was sectional cut off that means in each section you have to score at least minimum marks and that marks is decided by the campus team and that marks will not be told to you. No negative marking system but I recommend that try to solve 60% score in each section to get rid to next level. Do not try to attempt all question attempts at least 80% of questions in each section. For aptitude test preparation I strongly recommend R.S Agrwal.

After 1 hour result is declared Out of 250 only 17 were able to clear the aptitude test and I am one of that lucky people, so you can understand how tuff is that. So try to focus maximum on aptitude.

Before entering to 2^nd round HR team will make you fill one form that is simple basic information about yourself. No worry about this form.

Second round is group discussion:- Due to less number of people (only 17) group discussion was canceled by HR team of MphasiS. Now I am eligible to next round that is PI

Personal Interview:- There were total 3 person who took our interview two checks our personality, confidence, way of talking, way of sitting and all that. And one checks the technical knowledge. Now here comes your verbal ability how you speak and how you behave. Be fluent in English and be confident. While you are speaking to them make your eye contact properly. Do not here there. You resume plays a vital role in Interview. Mostly they ask question from your resume only.

I remember few moments of my interview :-

HR :- Good Evening Pavan

I :- Good Evening mam

HR :- so how are you pavan(Hearing this friendly sound I relaxed.)

I:- Fine, thank you what about you.

HR:- so hows your college life?

I:- I enjoyed a lot and….another HR stops me

HR:- so you enjoyed your college life so why should we hire you.

I:- (Salas sach bola to lag gai..:P) I replied confidently my enjoyment doesn’t effect on my result that you can see from my marks. (HR go through my resume and says “hmmmm..”)

HR:- so how did you enjoyed your life

I:- Told…

Hr:- so in future where do you see your self

I:- successful Project manager.!

HR:- asked one question about database SQL

I:- told.

Hr:- Thank you pavan you may leave now.

            I was so tensed after giving interview finally around 9pm result came out and total 6 students were cleared PI out of 17. And again I am one of them. Feeling so much happy that I am about to get the job.

Fourth and final unique round Telephonic Versant test round:- believe me this round is just a formality. If you have called customer care any time then this would be easiest round. you will be given a call to one number and one page. On that page few sentence were written. Then on telephone IVR will ask you to speak the sentence. Like read sentence 10, sentence 5. It will ask in any order you have to just read it. After that IVR will speak one sentence and you have to repeat it again easy. Then IVR will ask few stupid question like “if you are sick to whom you consult? A Doctor or A plumber?” we have to answer A doctor. The problem is that English the foreign English if you are habituate to English movie then no problem. Finally IVR will tell you a small story about 5-6 sentences and you have to repeat the whole story. Don’t worry as I told this is just a formality at least try to speak few lines form the story.

It was 11pm we all are waiting for result. Then HR came and told us that result will be declared tomorrow to your placement officer.

My reaction:- Shitt it is gonna be a hectic night today.

On the next day around 11 am sir called me and congratulate me and given me good news that I am selected in MphasiS. For your knowledge all 6 were selected no elimination in Final round.
